# Open USD (OUSD)

## Overview

[Open USD (OUSD)](https://joinopenstandard.com) is a USD stablecoin available through
`viem/tokens`.

Add `ousd` to a Client to use it with [Token Actions](/tokens/actions).

## Read Open USD Balances

Use [`getBalance`](/tokens/actions/getBalance) to read an account's balance.

## Send Open USD

Use [`transfer`](/tokens/actions/transfer) to send Open USD to another account.
